At Glaser, Currie & Bullman, LLP, we take seriously the representation of crime victims, survivors and their families. We have a rare combination of experience in dealing with crime victims that provides us a unique understanding of the needs and issues of crime victims. Our attorneys have experience in cases involving victims of DUI drivers, rape, assault, police misconduct, nursing home abuse, fraud, financial crimes against the disabled and elderly and other crimes.
One of our attorneys, Mark Bullman, is a former police officer and prosecutor. Mr. Bullman has worked with prosecutors and law enforcement in both state and federal courts to prosecute criminals to the fullest extent of the law and defend the rights of crime victims across Georgia. At Glaser, Currie & Bullman, we continue to help crime victims by zealously representing our clients' claims for compensation for physical, emotional and psychological injuries and other damages suffered at the hands of criminals, as well as helping our clients obtain assistance through support groups and other community and governmental resources.
In taking our efforts to another level, two of our attorneys are members of the board of directors of Georgia's Crime Victims Advocacy Council (or CVAC). Mark Bullman was recently elected president of this well-respected victims' advocacy group. CVAC has been instrumental in the passage of various crime victims' bills, including Georgia's Crime Victim Compensation Act, and is currently working on both a new victims' rights bill modeled after federal victims' rights legislation and establishing a legal services program for crime victims across Georgia. CVAC also holds an annual memorial and healing service for the families of murder victims in metro-Atlanta. You can learn more about CVAC and the important work it does at: www.cvaconline.org.
In 2008, Mr. Bullman was also the keynote speaker at the Georgia Criminal Justice Coordinating Council annual convention which is attended by law enforcement officials, prosecutors, judges, community assistance groups, and volunteers from across the state to learn and share ideas of how best to protect the rights of crime victims in Georgia. You can learn more about the work of CJCC at: http://cjcc.ga.gov. We combine the work we do with groups like CVAC and CJCC with zealous legal representation to walk alongside our clients after their incredible losses.
Our lawyers are also panel attorneys for M.A.D.D. Georgia, which is a group of attorneys screened and qualified by this important group that fights drunk driving on Georgia's roads. David Currie is also a member of National Crime Victim Bar Association which is an association of attorneys specializing in the representation of crime victims across the country. More about the National Crime Victim Bar Association can be found at www.ncvc.org
This past year, Glaser, Currie & Bullman helped established a scholarship program for crime victims and their surviving family members. This scholarship is named in honor of those killed in the recent Fulton County Courthouse shootings. Each year, this program provides scholarships to aspiring college, professional or trade school students whose families have suffered the loss of a family member as the result of homicide or other serious, debilitating crime. This is just one way our law firm works hard to help crime victims and survivors heal and find hope for a brighter future.
If you or a family member has suffered as a victim of crime, we are ready to put or experience and dedication to work for you. Please feel free to call us, or contact us by filling out the Contact Form on this page.
